How it Works

Photocatalytic oxidation (PCO) is a process that
utilizes the energy from light to activate powerful
redox reactions on the surface of a semiconductor
photocatalyst. PCO takes place when UV light
(ambient, sunlight or light from electric lamps) activates
a photocatalyst in the presence of oxygen and moisture.

LumiLifeAF™ utilizes the power of light and Photocatalytic Oxidation technology (PCO) to produce Cleaner Air and Healthier Environments. Virtually every room in your home can be treated with LumiLifeAF™, our CFLS install into all standard 120 v sockets which are open to the air. The CFL’s should not be installed in enclosed fixtures or fixtures controlled by dimmers.

With normal room air circulation one (1) RS Coated CFL will eliminate contaminates and odor in a room up to 200 sq. ft. For larger rooms or rooms with ceilings above 8 feet two (2) RS CFL’s are recommended.

LumiLifeAF™ CFL’s save energy too! Our exclusive Radiant Shield™ Coated CFL’s require less that 23 watts of energy yet provide 75 watts of traditional incandescent light. Due to their energy efficiency, it is recommended that the lamps are left on. The longer the CFL is on, the more airborne contaminates are removed from the air.

Full spectrum lighting has been clinically proven to provide such benefits as better visibility and improved health. RS coated compact flourescent light bulbs combine the benefit of full spectrum light with the power of Photocatalytic oxidation.

The LumiLifeAF™ CFL's (Compact Flourescent Lights) are treated with Radiant Shield™ Coating. As air circulates around the bulb the PCO process occurs, eliminating allergy causing airborn contaminates, organic matter and odor.

Activation of the catalyst generates hydroxyl radicals and superoxide ions,
powerful oxidizing species which attack, break down and eliminate a variety of
organic compounds. Unlike absorbents, Photocatalytic Oxidation is a process
that chemically destroys compounds by oxidation reactions.The process does
not utilize toxic chemical agents, so there is no danger of leaching materials
from the photoactive coating. The by-product of this oxidation process of organic
molecules is CO2, H2O and dilute mineral acids.

Radiant Shield Coating (RSC) is a surface coating that utilizes nano technology and harnesses the power of Photocatalytic Oxidation to deliver the most effective and persistent shield against allergy causing contaminates.

When surfaces treated with Radiant Shield™ Coating are exposed to UV light (ambient sunlight or light from our Radiant Shield™ CFL lamps) a powerful photocatalytic reaction occurs: safely and effectively destroying surface contaminates at their cellular level. This process is both invisible and constant. As long as there is UV light present, Radiant Shield™ Coating continuously works to eliminate harmful organic and chemical contaminates.
